On this short trip you can enjoy the nearly untouched south west of the Dominican Republic. Amongst others you will visit the Lagoon Oviedo, a lagoon of fresh water and sea water which is home for many iguanas and flamingos and relax on one of the most beautiful nature beaches of the Caribbean.
Day 1: Santo Domingo – San Cristóbal – Baní – Azua – Barahona Drive along a coastal road towards San Cristóbal. The road will take you through an agricultural area with villages surrounded by mango groves, breadfruit trees, coconut palms and banana plantations. After Baní, the road will take you uphill through a barren countryside where cacti, yellow agaves, thorn bushes, acacias and mimosas grow. In the evening, you will reach the provincial capital Barahona, which lies close to the "Bahía de Neiba".

Day 2: Laguna de Oviedo
The Laguna Oviedo contains fresh water as well as sea water and consists of 22 islands of different sizes and vegetation. A boat ride will show you the beauty of the nature from another point of view. A second boat ride will take you directly to the biggest flamingo colony of the Dominican Republic. Head back towards Barahona, but stop first in Los Patos to take a refreshing dip in the river. In Bahoruco, visit a Larimar studio to see how the stone is processed.

Day 3: Bahía de las Aguilas Drive to Los Patos, where you will visit the caves of the Taíno Indians. Journey on to the small port Cabo Rojo. In Las Cuevas, you will board a boat that will take you on a 15 minute tour to one of the most beautiful natural beaches of the world. The beach of the Bahía de las Aguilas (eagle bay) is located in a national park and absolutely pristine and pure white. You can observe more than 130 species of birds. On your drive back, stop at the only water spring in the national park Jaragua.

Day 4: Barahona - Santo Domingo After breakfast, transfer to Santo Domingo.
